What Do We Do?

Some examples of projects in which we have been involved:

Swansea Materials Research and Testing (SMaRT)

SMaRT is a company that has been spun out by Swansea University from its joint research activities with Rolls-Royce. The company provides a range of advanced materials characterisation, testing and analysis services for the components of aircraft jet engines. We were involved in the University’s negotiations with Rolls-Royce leading up to the formation of the company in 2009 and have provided commercial consultancy services since that time.

Swansea University

Swansea University Science and Innovation Campus

The development of Swansea University’s new campus in Fabian Way, which is due to open in Autumn 2015, is a major regional regeneration project as well as a major expansion for the University itself. It has attracted funding support from Welsh Government, European Structural Funds and the European Investment Bank as well as BP, the previous land owner and other private sources. We worked, as part of the University’s advisory team, on business and financial modelling for the project and on negotiations with potential funders and business partners.

European Structural Funds

Independent Review on European Structural Funds

We were invited, in the summer of 2012, to undertake an Independent Review for Welsh Government on the lessons that could be learned from the first two rounds of European Structural Funds in Wales and how these might be applied in the upcoming 2014 - 2020 round. This review was published in March 2013 (Investing in Growth and Jobs – An Independent Review of Arrangements for Implementation of European Structural Funds 2014 – 2020). It contained 14 recommendations all of which were subsequently accepted by Welsh Government
