Concentric Health develops a solution for remote consent

Welsh Government Innovation is supporting Concentric Health to develop a solution for remote consent to treatment during and following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Concentric Health digitally transforms the paper process of giving consent for treatment, a process that is currently done on paper and is a poor experience for both patient and clinician.

Concentric’s digital consent application is used by clinicians internationally, including at sites such as Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Trust and Jersey General Hospital.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues, maintaining non-Covid care such as urgent surgery and cancer treatment is key to managing the overall impact of the pandemic on the health of the nation. Concentric Health, supported by Welsh Government Innovation have developed remote consent functionality, meaning that risky in person consent consultations prior to treatment can be avoided.

Business Wales says this project will reduce patient contact time thereby minimising the risk of spreading the disease and reducing the impact on the NHS. The application is currently being scaled across a number of NHS sites, including at Welsh health boards.

Concentric Health’s mission is to transform how decisions are made about our health. Decisions informed by patient outcomes, and shared by patient and clinician. Concentric Health are a clinically led team with deep technical expertise.
